Pastor Avery Foster Sr

Pastor Avery Foster, Sr. has been a pillar of faith, leadership, and vision within the Apostolic community for more than four decades. As the founder and Senior Pastor of the Fellowship Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, he has faithfully dedicated his life to preaching the uncompromising truth of God’s Word, guiding souls toward salvation, and building a spiritual legacy that continues to impact generations.

Pastor Foster’s ministry began over 45 years ago in Wake County, North Carolina, where he served as an evangelist. At the time, he did not yet have a congregation of his own, but his bold and Spirit-filled preaching drew many to Christ. As he traveled and ministered, people were compelled not only by his words but also by his genuine love for God’s people. Among those who recognized the call of God on his life was Minister William Joyner, who would go on to serve faithfully alongside Pastor Foster for more than 30 years. Together, they shared in the work of evangelism and discipleship, and with the support of a small but dedicated group of believers, they laid the foundation for what would one day become the Fellowship Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Under Pastor Foster’s leadership, the church grew into a thriving body of believers, committed to worship, holiness, and community outreach. Known for his boldness and courage in declaring the Gospel, Pastor Foster preaches with conviction and clarity, never wavering in his stand for biblical truth. He has consistently set a standard of holiness and dedication, reminding all who hear him that salvation requires full surrender and obedience to God. His messages are both challenging and life-giving, drawing people into deeper fellowship with Christ and calling them to live lives that reflect the Apostolic faith.

Beyond the pulpit, Pastor Foster has devoted himself to the care of his congregation and community. Family is central to Pastor Foster’s life and ministry. He has been blessed to share 52 years of marriage with First Lady Ma Tina Foster, a devoted partner in life and ministry. Together, they have raised a family that mirrors their love for God and the church, including their children Avery Jr. Foster III, Alonza Foster, and Avery Foster IV. The example of their marriage and family life has been an inspiration to many within the congregation and community.

What distinguishes Pastor Foster most is not simply his longevity in ministry, but his unshakable commitment to God’s call. Through trials, challenges, and seasons of growth, he has remained steadfast in his mission to shepherd God’s people. His vision for a holy church, rooted in Apostolic teaching and practice, continues to guide the Fellowship Church of the Lord Jesus Christ today.

Ma Tina Foster

Mrs. Tina Foster, also known as Ma Tina Foster, is the wife of Pastor Avery Foster Sr. They have been married for over 55 years as of 2019. Ma Tina has been a strong supporter of her husband in all his endeavors and has been an inspiration to the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ community since its inception. In fact, she was Pastor Avery Foster's first member.

Over the years, Ma Tina has become a vital part of the church in many ways. She led a group of sisters in the early days of the church called "The Sisters of Faith," who raised funds to help build the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ on Auburn Church Road in Garner, NC. The Sisters of Faith organized yard sales and fundraisers to keep the services going.

Ma Tina is known as the "Mother of the Church." She has not only carried the title but has also been a mother to many church members, praying, encouraging, correcting, and advising them. As the wife of a pastor for over 50 years, she has set an example for every woman on how to treat their husbands and take care of their homes.

Ma Tina is considered one of the most distinguished figures in our church, and she always will be. She is the wife of Pastor Avery Foster Sr. and the mother of Minister Joshua Avery IV, Avery Foster III, and Alonza Foster.
