Our Statement of Faith
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God and the final authority for salvation and holy living.
Scripture References:
-
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16
-
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” — Matthew 24:35
The Godhead
We believe in the one true God, revealed as the Lord Jesus Christ, who is both Father, Son, and Holy Ghost manifested in His fullness.
Scripture References:
-
“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.” — Deuteronomy 6:4
-
“God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” — 1 Timothy 3:16
-
“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” — Colossians 2:9
Salvation
We believe salvation is according to Acts 2:38 — repentance, baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.
Scripture References:
-
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” — Acts 2:38
-
“Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” — John 3:5
-
“They were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” — Acts 2:4
Holiness
We believe in living a holy life inwardly and outwardly, separated from sin, and dedicated unto the Lord. Those who serve in leadership must demonstrate good moral character and obedience to the Apostolic faith.
Scripture References:
-
“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.” — Hebrews 12:14
-
“Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” — 1 Peter 1:16
-
“Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” — 2 Corinthians 7:1
The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, called to worship God, edify believers, and evangelize the world. Our ministries — including youth, Sunday school, music, and hospitality — serve to strengthen families, train disciples, and preserve the Apostolic doctrine.
Scripture References:
-
“Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.” — 1 Corinthians 12:27
-
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” — Matthew 28:19
-
“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” — Ephesians 4:11–12
The Ordinances
We believe in the sacred ordinances of the Church: water baptism in Jesus’ name, the infilling of the Holy Ghost, the Lord’s Supper, marriage as a holy covenant, and the burial of the saints in hope of resurrection.
Scripture References:
-
Baptism: “Then Peter commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.” — Acts 10:48
-
The Holy Ghost: “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost.” — Acts 2:4
-
The Lord’s Supper: “This do in remembrance of me.” — 1 Corinthians 11:24–25
-
Marriage: “What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” — Matthew 19:6
-
Burial of the saints: “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout… and the dead in Christ shall rise first.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:16
The Baptism of the Lord Jesus Christ
We believe in baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ as the only biblical mode of baptism, essential for the remission of sins and entrance into the New Covenant.
Scripture References:
-
“Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.” — Acts 2:38
-
“Then Peter commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.” — Acts 10:48
-
“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?” — Romans 6:3
The Call to Preach
We believe that God has called men to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, to serve as pastors and overseers of the flock, in accordance with the order and example set forth in the Scriptures.
Scripture References:
-
“I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.” — 1 Timothy 2:12
-
“For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church.” — Ephesians 5:23
-
“A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach.” — 1 Timothy 3:2
The Coming of the Lord
We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ for His Church, and we prepare ourselves and others through holy living, sound doctrine, and faithful service.
Scripture References:
-
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout… and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17
-
“Be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” — Matthew 24:44
-
“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.” — Titus 2:13
Our Faith
We believe in one God, revealed as the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the full Apostolic message of salvation through repentance, water baptism in the Lord Jesus Christ, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost. We are committed to living holy lives, teaching God’s Word, and preparing for the soon return of Christ. As the Fellowship Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, our mission is to share the gospel, strengthen families, and build a Spirit-filled community that glorifies God in all things.
