Evangelist David Medlin has faithfully served the Fellowship Church of the Lord Jesus Christ since 1989. A true pioneer in ministry, he is the founder of the church’s Music Ministry, which he began with the God-given gift of playing the guitar. At a time when the church had no other musicians, Evangelist David stepped forward as the lead musician, carrying the responsibility of worship through his dedication and anointed playing. As the years passed, the Lord added more musicians, transforming the ministry from a single instrument into a full ensemble that now blesses the entire congregation.

For more than 15 years, Evangelist David served as Minister of Music, shaping the foundation of worship within the church. During that time, he mentored many, including our current Associate Pastor, Joshua Foster, teaching him not only how to lead music but also how to lead worship with reverence and excellence. In due season, Evangelist David passed the baton of leadership to Joshua Foster, ensuring that the ministry would continue to flourish. Even after stepping aside from that role, Evangelist David remains a vital part of the Music Ministry—still singing, playing, and encouraging others. Today, he is affectionately regarded as the “grandfather” of our Music Ministry.

Beyond music, Evangelist David has carried out a faithful calling as an Evangelist and spiritual mentor. He has ministered to many through Bible studies held in his home in Durham, NC, opening his doors and his heart to both believers and seekers. He has played an instrumental role as a Senior Advisor to our Pastor, Avery Foster, Sr., offering wisdom, prayer, and steadfast support for more than 30 years. His faithfulness has made him someone the Pastor and church family can always depend on.

Outside of his ministry work, Evangelist David is a devoted husband and the proud father of five daughters, whom he dearly loves and treasures. His family remains a reflection of his dedication to both God and home.

Known for his warm smile, kind spirit, and genuine love for people, Evangelist David embodies the heart of Christ in all that he does. Whether preaching, praying, mentoring, or playing music, his presence continues to bless the church family. He remains an example of faith, humility, and love in action, and the Fellowship Church of the Lord Jesus Christ is stronger because of his lifelong service.
